Assessing Knowledge
- Google Forms online surveys to gather informal data from students.

In-class Assessment and Feedback
Polling, peer assessment, and asking ‘good questions’ are some examples. These can assess disciplinary knowledge, critical thinking, and scientific/quantitative reasoning. Supporting tools include:
- Socrative: online formative assessment tool for surveys and polls.
- Mobile/web polling tools
- Kahoot: quick, game-based learning assessments
- Nearpod: interactive classroom presentation with assessment and survey tools built in
- PollEverywhere: quick, web-based audience and student response for real-time feedback.
Peer Assessment and/or Review
Students assess written work of peers and selves. These can assess disciplinary knowledge, critical thinking, communication skills, and scientific/quantitative reasoning. Supporting tools include:
- Google Drive and Docs: share and collaborate on files such as documents and slide decks
