New Canvas Integration – Respondus LockDown Browser

Are you looking for a way to prevent students taking an online Canvas quiz from accessing any outside websites, printing, copying or accessing other applications  during the quiz ?   If yes, then consider requiring students to use the Respondus LockDown Browser,  which is now available within Endicott’s Canvas platform.

Fall Workshops

With the Fall semester underway, we wanted to pass along news about upcoming Academic Technology  workshops.  See the schedule below or access the workshop schedule from Endicott’s website.         

Collaboration in the Classroom – Introduction

This session will focus on the What, When, and Why of collaboration with technology in the classroom. We will discuss the various tools available, best case scenarios and tips for success when you have students collaborate.

Collaboration in the Classroom – Hands on Lab

A hands on lab session which will include using collaboration tools, set up, delivery and follow through. We will focus on the Google Productivity Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides), but the methods and workflow can be applied to Microsoft and Apple products as well. Participants can bring their own device, or you may use the lab computers.

Exploring Tools for Formative Assessment

Implementing classroom assessment strategies using interactive presentations, online polls and knowledge-check questions, and quiz games is easier than ever with free digital tools and apps. We will review the various tools, discuss and share practical uses in the classroom, and get hands-on experience with four tools: Socrative, Kahoot, Poll Everywhere, and Nearpod.

Creating Interactive Images with ThingLink

Interested in learning about ThingLInk, an interactive image platform for students and teachers to create interactive digital content based on images and adding rich media elements? In this session, you will learn how your colleagues are using Thinglink for student assignments and get hands-on experience building your own Thinglink to tell a story, explain a concept, or teach a lesson.

Introduction to S.A.M.R. Model (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition)

The S.A.M.R. model guides educators in designing technology-integrated units to transform the learning environment. It is also a reflective tool for teachers to fine-tune their practices and pedagogy that involve technology. We will review the S.A.M.R. model and look at several examples of how this model can be applied to projects in your classroom.
