  • Evernote: Limited free, create online notes on your device and connect to calendars.

Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text Technologies

All Endicott community members have access to free text-to-speech and speech-to-text tools, whether or not you have met with the Center for Accessibility Services. Some may find it helpful to hear an article as they read it. Others may choose to develop the outline of a paper or essay by talking aloud as they think.

Text-to-Speech

  • ReadSpeaker: Built into Canvas, click on the speaker icon (ReadSpeaker - Canvas) on the left to activate.

  • TextAid for Chrome (by ReadSpeaker): Free for Endicott users; install on Chrome browsers to read any website’s text to you.
  • Windows Narrator: Built into Windows devices as a screen-reading tool without installing another application.
  • Mac/iOS VoiceOver: Built into Mac and iOS devices for reading screens and using voice command with your Apple devices.
  • NVDA: Free screen reader for increasing technology accessibility.
